Keith ArmstrongBrewmaster at Great Western Brewery
Keith first tried home-brewing during university and still brews at home with his wife.
Keith has brewed from 40 hL. to 1,000 hL.; from the North Atlantic to the South Pacific. He developed craft brews in Canada and New Zealand; as well as working with a plethora of global beers.
Keith served the Master Brewers Association of Canada in roles up to President. Keith has presented at MBAA and at IBD conferences.
Keith loves to challenge people to know better, and to respect more, those two critical components which are the foundations of our trade: barley and yeast.
When it comes to beer; Keith loves pretty well all beer styles. Keith particularly enjoys clean flavourful beers that show the brewers have fully appreciated their barley malts.

The BC Craft Brewers Guild strives for members to be part of their greater communities, including recognizing communities from the farm to the glass.
Today, we need a consistent industry message, a positive message, more than ever. With Beer sales down dramatically in British Columbia; we need to invite customers and consumers into our product. Let’s discuss how and why we should consider this conundrum; for the future success of us all.
We should love and proselytize every aspect of the greater good that is Beer. Consumers’ connection with barley and with malt has deteriorated dramatically over recent decades. Yes, perhaps this is an opportunity for us all.
