Basics of Protective Beer Spaces
Join Good Night Out Vancouver and learn the basics of creating safer, or protective, beer spaces. Sexual harassment prevention does not happen by accident. It takes a 4-walled approach that all staff help to build and support. This session will introduce the concept, including identifying risks in the industry and tools to help bring down that risk.
At the end of this session, participants will:
- Be familiar with the concept of “Protective Spaces” and the 4 walls which support them.
- Be able to identify 5 risk factors in the brewing industry that can increase the risk of sexual harassment happening in their space or event.
- Have an introductory understanding of “Ethical Consent” and how it applies to customer and employee relations
- Be introduced to some tools to help bring down the risk.
- Be introduced to the BC Craft Brewers Guild X Good Night Out Guide to Safer Beer Festivals
