Carlos Mendes is a Partner and Chair of the Craft Breweries Practice at Singleton Urquhart Reynolds Vogel LLP in Vancouver. He primarily advises clients on the financing, development and leasing of institutional real estate and the establishment and operation of commercial breweries.
Carlos acts as general counsel to the BC Craft Brewers Guild and to numerous breweries across the province, assisting them with everything from navigating the rules and regulations of the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch, to leasing, raising capital, incorporation and brand protection. He has written extensively about beer in numerous publications including Scout Magazine, and is a regular guest instructor in the Brewery Operations programs at SFU and KPU.
